I'm up to 6 dream role rejections this year. 😅

(Only counting cases where I at least spoke to someone at the company.)

#1 - April. Still without a clear vision of what I wanted to do next, I went for companies building the dev tools I used and loved every day. This company made one I used daily last year.

#2 - May. A company that works with lots of VC partners in SF. I was starting to realize I wanted to do startups, and this role seemed like the best way to dip my toes into that world.

#3 - June. A frontier-ish lab.

#4 - July. A startup doing self-modifying/self-improving agents. (Honestly, the research talent density there is so high that I would have joined even if they sold veggie tacos in front of Oracle Park just to be inside that food truck.)

#5 - July. A startup working on the same problem as me, making agents accessible to non-engineers. This one had so much alignment with my work on Isomux. Oh well...

#6 - September. A startup bringing software factories to companies, with parallels to my current Isomux enterprise pilot.

October has a high bar to keep things as entertaining 😂

Our industry is getting weird, so a crazy job search feels fitting. But I'm learning a lot through it. Grateful for the many interesting people I wouldn't have met otherwise.
